Here’s how we are supporting innovation through Juniper Advisors:
Energy companies constantly experience challenges in finding the right technology, right fuels, identifying new technologies, reducing their carbon footprint, reducing energy costs, identifying proper partners and commercializing products and services. Juniper Advisors through the network of its Principals and Associates, all eminent industry specialists are able to find innovative solutions. Juniper is always interested in working with researchers, entrepreneurs, small businesses, professional institutions and chambers, governmental and non-governmental organizations, international and development financial institutions and consumer groups to offer solutions to the energy challenges that face Pakistan and other developing countries.
Pakistan is a large and growing energy market. It should by rights be one of the main markets for all major plant, technology suppliers and energy financial institutions globally. But because of policy issues, international perception and the inability to market Pakistani energy projects efforts have been stymied. This is where Juniper is able through its understanding of both technology and applications assist a whole range of clients viz; investors, state owned enterprises, international suppliers to bridge the gap.
Pakistan produces over 80 million Metric tons annually of agricultural waste. This equates, using conventional renewable technology, to about 8000 Megawatts of electricity. This would be green, clean and renewable electricity which could result in savings of over $ 15 billion annually in Pakistan’s import bill. However to capture part of this resource we need to identify new technologies and processes. This is where Juniper excels through its relationships with its sister organization Phoenix Energy.
Pakistan’s energy industry has a long, successful, profitable and well established record. This is often overlooked by many outsiders and insiders. From drilling the first oil and gas wells (in the Punjab in 1870 Sadkal - Potohar Plateau) in the Indian Sub Continent, to building the largest gas reticulation system in South Asia, the largest CNG industry in the world and to being a pioneer in the commercializing of nuclear power in the South Asian region Pakistan is an immense market waiting for its time.
Today, Pakistan is home to some of the world’s leading energy companies. With significant and sustained investments viz; Siemens, Shell, Chevron, International Power, GDF Suez, TenagaNasional, Xenel, United Energy Pakistan. The experience of all these companies in Pakistan has been good. Pakistan has a resource base of universities, entrepreneurs and companies that continue to invest in the energy industry and confront energy challenges the country faces. Juniper continuously tracks the regional assets in our energy database and publishes regularly the Pakistan Energy Review to assist our customers through its sister organization Pakistan Energy. Pakistan Energy on a daily basis reviews energy sector developments and provides Pakistan energy sector news through one platform.Juniper identifies opportunities in the energy and mineral sector and invests and develops these opportunities.
